My experience was very positive. Allison and her team set up a side trip for me to visit birthplace of my grandparents. The guide had for the day was exceptional. Allison and her team worked hard to find us meaningful and surprising events- cannoli by motor scooter was a first. Food choices were epic but too large!

did not go on the trip. After the zoom call, it was clear to me that this trip was NOT a photographic trip but a sight-seeing trip. If it WAS a photographic trip is was well covered up and someone should have spoken up....but they didn't.

Rick, now I know why you cancelled just a few days before departure. Beth Ruggiero, the photography leader, reached out to you upon receiving your cancellation notice but did not hear your reason for doing so or your concerns. No communication at all from you. No explanation of why you didn’t join us. I regret that you acted without consulting me or Beth. If you had expressed your concerns with us, as we asked you to do, we would have been able to address them. The advantage of a small-group workshop planned with a boutique tour company is that we are human and very personal and can make adjustments on the fly, especially when I, the owner of the company, am managing the workshop. Had I known your thoughts, I would have walked through each day of the itinerary with you to demonstrate how it would have exceeded your expectations. I have hosted 3 photography workshops in the last four years. I am very aware of what photographers want and what information helps inspire outstanding work. I regret your review, considering you did not go on the trip. Allison Scola Owner/Curator Experience Sicily

We had a great memorable trip! Everything was well planned and executed. Accommodations were very adequate. The hotel in Santa Flavia called Villa Cefala could use some new pillows and mattresses, but that wasn’t the company’s fault. We had many wonderful experiences ie. where does Ricotta come from and how is it made?! Time to shop and enjoy gelato or canolis. The food was plentiful and delicious. The wine too! The expert guides were awesome. And the excursion up Mt Etna was a once in a lifetime experience! All in all I would highly recommend Allison Scola and her team. Also Allison surprised us with her talented dancing and singing!!

What can I say, the lovely and talented Allison along with her team were nothing short of amazing. Each and every one of them knew the history of each area we visited. Rossella was very helpful and talented in the arrangements of the wonderful locations for. each of our hands-on cooking experiences was amazing. We were able to see a diverse landscape as we traveled all over the island. And being a small group (12 persons) made it easier to get in and out of crowded places. It also lent itself for our tours of the streets in Palermo for shopping and street food. I would love to do it again. Thank you, Rossella and Allison for a great vacation.

This was a truly an intimate and immersive exploration of the evolution of Sicily from the early inhabitants, through all of the conquering civilizations and their unique cultures, which brought us around to what makes Sicily the unique island that we experience today. All of this while getting up close and personal with the people, food, wine and beauty at every turn. It is quite evident that Allison has put a tremendous amount of time and effort along with her heart and soul into creating a one of a kind experience. This journey exceeded our expectations! Grazie di cuore Allisona!!!!

https://experiencesicily.com/tag/pierfilippo-spoto/ Pierfilippo and his team in Sant’ Angelo Muxaro in Agrigento , Sicily are amazing and I highly recommend him. Pierfilippo is top class and such a lovely person. His natural Sicilian warmth and humor, his deep knowledge of Sicilian, Italian and World history, his expert knowledge on culture and his vision for his region and country make him a delight to be with. He is the perfect contact if you are looking for a cultural experience in Sicily. The connection came from Angelo Marchica in Palermo who originally comes from Sant’ Angelo Muxaro. Angelo leads the company Streaty - Street food tour of Palermo. This we have done twice with my family. In 2018 we did tours in Palermon with Streaty. It was amazing, such fun and we did it again in 2022! Thank you Angelo! Pierfilippo organized for me a tailor-made “Sicilian programme”. This included pick up at the airport of Palermo Falcone Borsellino with Giuseppe, a dedicated and qualified teacher of Italian (and some Sicilian) with Rorita, work on an olive farm to help with the harvest with Paolo, visits of major UNESCO heritage centers and other cultural buildings as well as dinners and lunches with lovely local people (Lisa, Alfonso, Francesco, Caterina, Maria, Gloria.....from Sant’ Angelo Muxaro and the region. Yoga lessons with Ailin. There were so many delightful highlights and beautiful memories. Sant’ Angelo Muxaro in Agrigento, Sicily is a lovely village full of history going back + 3,000 years. It is part of our European heritage and I am so lucky to have learnt something special there. Pierfilippo also organizes groups who wish to do their own tailor-made programs. There were groups from the USA there as well as from Italy and other European and Asian countries. I feel so very grateful to Pierfilippo and to all the wonderful Sicilians I met there who educated me, who taught me, who were so patient with me. I was quite sad to have left the Sant’ Angelo Muxaro in Agrigento but I do know, I will come back again…with friends and or on my own. Possa Dio proteggere miei amici in Sicilia in Sant’ Angelo Muxaro.
